Fairfield, Illinois (5/5/2021)... The last time the AMSOIL USAC National Sprint Cars hit the track, Tanner Thorson's name was on the trophy. Thorson picked up the first two wins of his USAC National Sprint Car career during the Keystone Invasion nearly two weekends ago. Brady Bacon and C.J. Leary also took wins in Pennsylvania. Thorson's two wins are good enough to currently put him fourth in points behind Kevin Thomas Jr. (2 wins), Justin Grant (1 win), and leader Brady Bacon (2 wins).
This weekend though, the AMSOIL USAC National Sprint Cars take to the high-banked half-mile of Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio. The last time the USAC Sprint Cars raced at Eldora was in 2019. Then Tyler Courtney knew the way around best; he won all three times the series visited. In fact, Courtney has won the last four USAC National Sprint Car races at "The Big E". The last driver to win at Eldora, not named Tyler Courtney, was Chris Windom. He has two career at Eldora wins, and so does reigning champion Brady Bacon. Justin Grant holds three career wins, but the "Mad Man" Robert Ballou boasts the most career wins at Eldora among active drivers with five. The USAC National Sprint Cars have been spectacular thus far, with six different winners in nine races. $10,000 is up for grabs and you know USAC's best will bring their best when money is on the line.
